It’s hard to imagine. 27 million slaves in the world today. Many of them toil in anonymity making the products we use every day. Others suffer daily in the $7 billion industry of the sex trade. Most of them are women and children.
Human Trafficking is a very real problem, not only globally, but right here in the US and in the Triangle. The Red Light Film & Art Project is a burgeoning movement in the Triangle that seeks to eradicate the modern day slave trade.
Film and art have a way of speaking to the deepest parts of us. The Red Light Film & Art Project wants to leverage this power to help move us toward action! Through movie screenings, art shows, and more, we want to raise awareness, unite local abolitionists, and connect people with ways to fight human trafficking.
